Darrell Macs Hayes I

Darrell M. Hayes, I, 87, of Barling, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on May 22nd, 2026. He was born November 9th, 1938, in Paragould, Arkansas. Darrell was retired from local 29 Pipefitters Union. He worked all over the USA, Middle East and Africa. Darrell was an Army veteran, SP4 “E-4.” He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of Peasant Valley Church in Van Buren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lola “Jean” Hayes; mother, Mildred Gable; father, Damon Hayes; brothers; Dee and Billy Lee Hayes; daughter, Sarah Hayes and son, Bart Hayes.

He is survived by his sons, Darrell Hayes (Terri), and Rick Hayes (Catherine); brother, Randy Hayes (Linda); sister, Terry Vaughan (Jim), and nine grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 12:00 pm Monday, June 1st, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of ashes will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Parker, James Goins, John Wayne Hayes, Lonnie Myers, Gary Hassel and Mike Moxley.
