

Doris Walker Files,80, was born January 11, 1931, in Blue Mountain, Arkansas. She died Monday, February 7, 2011, at St. Edward Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden and Maybelle Walker.
Doris always provided spiritual direction and encouragement for her family, and her priorities were God, family and church, which were evident in her Christian life.
Her Christian witness extended to: golfing in the Ben Geren Women’s Golf Club, skiing on the slopes, teaching piano students, playing for the Deacon’s Quartet, hunting, boating, and camping with friends, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and serving on various church committees.
She is survived by husband Bill (Meredith) Files of more than 64 years and three daughters and their husbands: Sherry and Joe Riggins of Fort Smith; Judy and Tom Reding of Fort Smith; Glenda and Dean Pratt of Muldrow, OK. She also has a sister, Lyla Jean Files, of Fort Smith, and a brother, Bill Walker and his wife Nona, of Fort Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren: Karen and Sean Rollans, Greg Pratt, Brad and Julie Riggins, Tim and Linda Reding, Richard Pratt, Brian and Alicson Reding and Dena Pratt.
Great Grandchildren: Evan, Will, Paiton, Olson, Bennett, Emmory, Anna, Parker, Briana and Brison.
Pallbearers: Brad Riggins, Greg Pratt, Tim Reding, Evan Rollans, Richard Pratt, Jake Files, Scott Walker, and Hayden Walker. Honorary Pallbearers: Elmo Matthews, Mark Kesner, Don Dotson, and Earl Reed.
Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011, at 10:30 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church, with interment, to follow, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Officiating ministers are Jim Files, Mike Stark and Dr. Jeff Crawford. Visitation will be Thursday, February 10 from 5-7pm at Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grand Avenue Baptist Church, 3900 Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR.
