Earl Wayne Carter, 83, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on May 14, 2021. He was born on September 14, 1937 in Chase City, Virginia to Earl Thomas Carter and Alma Rose Carter. Earl was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a retired shop manager for Cargo Rentals. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ruby Faye Carter; son, Gary Carter; sister, Margaret Ashworth; brother, Wilbert Carter.
He is survived by two daughters, Marsha Boston and husband Jimmy of Fort Smith, Shelia Wilkins of Fort Smith; two sons, Dennis Carter and wife Cynthia of Fort Smith, Christopher Carter of Fort Smith; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Chapel service will be 2 PM, Friday, May 21, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Viewing will be 6:30 PM till 8:30 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Mark Boston, Jimmy Hue Boston, III, Dakota Wayne Carter, Kenny Watts, James Ridenhour and James Herndon.
