

Elizabeth Ann Parris passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at her home. She was born to Chester and Eleanor Jones on February 24, 1919. Elizabeth grew up on a farm in Nicut, Oklahoma. She attended Muldrow High School, where she met her future husband, William (Bill) Parris. They both attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, but eloped as students to be married at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma on October 13, 1938. In 2013 they celebrated their 75th year of marriage together. Elizabeth was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was a member of South 46th Street Church of Christ, where both she and Bill attended for many years. She was a homemaker, working outside her home for only a few years in the late 1950’s, when she worked at Hunt’s Department Store. Her primary concern was her family. She was a wonderful cook and she loved sewing, needlework, reading and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Parris, her brother, Russell Jones, and her parents, Chester and Eleanor Jones. She is survived by her children, Patricia Campbell of Fort Smith, Janee Crotts and husband David of Holiday Island, and Michael Parris and wife Heidi of Birmingham MI; her brother, John A Jones and wife Flossie, of Sallisaw; her grandchildren, Laura Borgmann and husband Chris of Nashville, TN, Alan Campbell and wife Donna of Estero FL, Todd Reding and wife Shannon of Grinnell IA, Erin and K.C. Dahlia of Birmingham, MI, and Allison Parris of New York City, NY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Nelson Wakefield, Tony Rice, David Hayes, Kim Jones, Terry Jones and Bill Ed Brooks. Memorials may be made to South 46th Street Church of Christ or Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, AR (PO Box 649, Morrilton AR 72110). The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to both Peachtree Hospice and the caregivers who tirelessly cared for both our parents over the last 3 years.
