Eugene G. Spangler, 87, of Fort Smith, died November 25, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born June 20, 1928 in Braden Oklahoma to G.W. and Mary Alison Spangler. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served the Air National Guard as Deputy Fire Chief and Security.
He is survived by one son, Roger Spangler of Fort Smith; one sister, Carol Ascehman of Clontraf, MN; and two grandchildren, Chandler and Spencer Spangler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Mae Spangler.
Funeral service will be Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Randy McDaniel, Bradford McDaniel, Shannon Spangler, Daniel Lynch, Spencer Spangler, and Tyler Hook.
