Genevieve Lee Heim, 98 years young, passed from this life the morning of February 21, 2022. She was born January 26, 1924, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Lawrence Beitler and Janet Shields Beitler. Genevieve had worked many years at St. Edwards Hospital and was a long time member of the Fort Smith Duplicate Bridge Club. She was a parishioner of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Genevieve is survived by her children, Kathryn D. Miller and husband Dennis of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jayne Ann Kita and husband Gary of Marche, Arkansas, Robert L. Heim and wife Cathy of Russellville, Arkansas and Stephen A. Heim, M.D. and wife Betty of Berryville, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many, many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Stephen A. Heim, Sr.; and daughter Patricia Reith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00pm Friday, February 25, 2022 followed immediately by the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm, all at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Genevieve’s name to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1820 North B Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 or Kitties and Kanines Veterinary Clinic, 4300 Phoenix Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
