George Patrick Cole, 79, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1944 in Beaumont, TX to the late George Frank and Pauline Burgess Cole. Pat, as he was known to his family and friends, was retired from Tate and Lyle Company in Van Buren, where he worked as a boiler operator until his retirement. Pat was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 68 in Branson, MO. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Pat is preceded in death by his step-brother, Vernon Davis.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Diffey-Cole of the home; two daughters, Veldina Graham (David) of Mountainburg and Meredith Hawblitzel of Fort Smith; step-daughter, Hollie Pierce of Harrison, step-son, Chris Diffey (Brandy) of Harrison; step-brother, Alex Davis (Henni) of Bridger, MT; aunt, Margie Smith (Jimmy) of Beaumont, TX, along with nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 12:00pm Friday, June 30, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, with visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm, one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
