

George Meyers, 85, of Fort Smith passed away on February 2, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born February 5, 1926 in Morrison Bluff, AR to the late John Bernard and Mary Margaret Wewers Meyers. He was retired from AT&T after 37 years of service, a Veteran of World War II and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lenice Meyers of the Home; three sons, Sam and wife Kimberly Meyers of Fort Smith, Mark and wife Sherrie Meyers of Alma, and Gary and wife Dixie Meyers of China; five brothers, John B. Meyers, Jerome Meyers, Patrick Meyers, and Gregory Meyers all of Fort Smith and Joe Meyers of Loveland, CO; seven grandchildren, Natalie Smittle, Nathan, Maxwell, Sarah, Alexia, Greyson, and Sophia Meyers; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Bill Meyers and two sisters, Margaret Schlag and Christine Klempt.
Rosary will be said Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 4:00 PM in St. Boniface Catholic Church and Mass will be said on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bob, Billy Joe, Mike, Danny, and Ryan Meyers and Kenny Schlag.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick, Ron, Jeff, William, and Brad Meyers.
The family will greet friends in St. Boniface Parish Center on Sunday from 2:30 PM to the beginning of the Rosary in the Church.
