He was born August 22,1957, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Gerald Webb and Gloria (Webb) Carter.
He is survived by his sisters, Lisa Johnson, Candathia Carter, Kelli Carter and Ashley McCarthy; and nieces and nephews, Monica D’Amour, Chance and Brittany Tanner, Chaseton and Hannah McCarthy, Chelsi Tanner, Courtney Cash, Blaydon Inness and Christian Inness.
Gerald, known by his family and friends as Jay, Jay-bo and Uncle Jay, resided at Cedar Ridge Apartments in Alma. He was very proud of his apartment, decorated with Razorbacks memorabilia in every room. He worked at Jobs Plus, where he met each person with a smile and personalized greeting.
Jay’s heart was full of love for his “babies” — Brooke, Uriah, Waylon, Jimmy, Presley, Kai and Brooks — and they loved him back with the same tenderness he gave to them.
His friends and co-workers gathered on Thursday for a pizza party and Razorback cake and “called the Hogs” in his honor. Family gathered later in the day for a Celebration of Life with the activities he loved most — food, music and stories about the good old days.
Each member of the Stepping Stone and Cedar Ridge staff cared for Jay as if he was their brother or very best friend. In lieu of flowers, the family would very much appreciate any donations to Stepping Stone School, In Memory of Gerald Webb, P.O. Box 2389, Alma, AR 72921, so that others who need a safe haven and special care and/or services will have the life they deserve.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.edwards-funeralhome.com for the Webb family.
