

Robert Glen Lively was born September 2, 1919 in Charleston, Arkansas and passed away May 17, 2021 at the age of 101 years old. Glen is preceded in death by his wife Mildred of 66 years, his parents Columbus Fletcher and Virgie Lively, a brother Raymond and two sisters, Rubye Berger and Lena House, an infant son Stephen Lively, a son Doug Lively and a grandson Adam Lively.
Glen is survived by two sons David Martin Lively and his wife Barbara, Timothy Martin Lively and his wife Shirley, and a daughter-in-law Brenda Lively. Glen’s grandchildren are David Lively, Jr., Mark Lively, Brandon Moore, Kimberly Lively and Nick Lively. Glen is also survived by seven great grandchildren and a very special friend Barbara Kymer.
Glen was raised in Fort Smith and played football at Fort Smith Senior High School. He was an avid Razorback fan attending his first football game in 1946. He was in the United States Army and served in the Field Artillery. During his service in North Carolina, Glen Married his high school sweetheart Mildred Sue Martin.
Glen founded Lively Insurance Agency and retired at the age of 57 after many successful years in the insurance business. After Glen retired, he and Mildred loved traveling in their Air Stream trailer and traveled all over the United States and Canada. After Mildred’s death in 2008, Glen lived at Peachtree Village and later moved to Chapel Ridge Health and Rehab. We are very grateful for the loving care he received at both facilities.
Glen was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church at 200 North 15th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral home.
