He was born November 21, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas to Arby and Elizabeth Thompson. Glenn graduated from Fort Smith High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Glenn was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his son, Robert (Bob) Thompson; sister Barbara Blaylock; and brother Keith Thompson.
Glenn is lovingly survived by his wife of 63 years, Sally Thompson; son Brian Thompson; grandsons Parker and Carson Thompson; as well as sister, Dolores Johnson and brothers Wayne, Bruce and Gary Thompson.
A graveside service was held at Forest Park Cemetery on April 22, 2026. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
