Grant Craig Lewis went home to be with The Lord April 25, 2018. He was 86. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 44 years, his daughter Laura, two sons; Torger and Mark, and his grandson Ashton. He is also survived by his Aunt Virginia, Uncle Herschel and a large family in Indiana.
Grant was a retired Chief Petty Officer after 22 years in the United States Navy. He fought bravely in Korea and Vietnam. After the Vietnam War, Grant was the Director of Refugee Intake at Fort Chaffee and served as the Chaplain of the American Legion Post #31 for many years. He attended the Louisville Theological Seminary.
He loved life and his family dearly. His humor, kindness and love live on in the lives of those who knew him.
Grant’s Celebration of life service will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 30, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Military Honors and burial will follow at 12:00 PM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Public viewing will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
