

Herb Riley, Jr., 74, of Fort Smith, died December 5, 2016 in Alma, AR. He was born September 8, 1942 in Hot Springs, AR to Herbert Allman and Ida Ardella Givens Riley. He was a retired Medical Microbiologist for Sparks Regional Medical Center, a member of First Baptist Church, and he taught at Union Christian Academy.
He is survived by his wife, Katie of the home; one daughter, Charlotte and husband Joe Gellis of Florida; three sons, Johnny and wife Melanie Riley of Fort Smith, Marc Ian and wife Kate Riley of Fort Smith and Ethan Wayne and wife Maegan Riley of Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte; and one brother, David.
Memorial service will be Monday, December 12, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith. Private burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith with Military Honors, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Mission Fund, North 14th Street and Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
