He was born September 21, 1939 in Thayer, MO to Bess and George Jackson. He was a Mathematics Professor at Arkansas State University in Beebe, AR. Once he moved to Fort Smith, he worked as an instructor and consultant at the Business and Industrial Institute when it was Westark. He also did consultant work for the Walmart Home Office in Bentonville.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Jackson; sons Jack Lee Jackson II (Dianna) of Fort Smith, AR, and John Michael Jackson (Danielle) of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren Heather Hardwick (Micah) of Nashville, TN, Ashley Moreno (Erin) of Phoenix, AZ, Austin Jackson of Centerton, AR, and Drake Jackson (Rosi) of Bella Vista, AR, along with great grandchildren, Avery and Braiden Hardwick, and Jackson Moreno.
