J.B. "Jeep" Hanson

J.B. “Jeep” Hanson, 88, of Fort Smith, died January 26, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was a Retired Vice President of the Installment Loan Department of City National Bank after 34 years service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, served on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club, and he was the Arkansas Oklahoma Rodeo Arena Director for 20 years. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Lions Club and was a former employee of Edwards Funeral Home.He is survived by two sons, Jerry Bob and wife Annette Hanson of Vian, OK and William “Bill” Hanson and wife Kristy of Fort Smith; one brother, Roy Gene and wife Geri Hanson of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; Jim Hanson of Fayetteville, Becky Horn of Hiwasse, AR, Blake and Mia Hanson of Fort Smith, and two great grandchildren, Falan Hanson and Jordan White. He was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty years, Marjorie “Margie” Emaline Hanson.Funeral service will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Dude Crain, B.G. Hendrix, Jim Harwood, Tom Godwin, Robert Wells, Harold Kellam, Kenneth Smith, and Delmar “Butch” Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sonny Henson and Joe Nolte.
