

Jo Ann Butler, 75, of Greenwood, died September 10, 2011 in Fort Smith. She was born September 24, 1935 in Lavaca, AR to Fred and Ruby Marie Nixon Spencer. She was a former employee of ABF and Butler Construction, and a member of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church family and enjoyed attending church for over 40 years. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team and she loved fishing.
She is survived by two sons, Joey Butler of Greenwood and Dr. Monte Butler and wife Michelle Butler of Fort Smith; daughter-in-law Leslie Butler; three brothers, Hugh and wife Pat Spencer of Alma, Robert and wife Jane Spencer of Lewisville, TX., Bruce and wife Barbara Spencer of Russellville, AR; four grandchildren, Alex, Abbey Lynne, Emily, and John. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Bob Butler; daughter, Kimberly Ann Butler and granddaughter, Katherine Renee Butler.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Mayberry Cemetery in Central City under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joey, Monte, and Eddie Butler, Nick and Robbie Spencer, Rayburn Green, Charles Wagoner, and Wayne Newell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Hugh, Robert, and Bruce Spencer.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM.
