

John Edward Little, 84 of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1930 in Cavanaugh, AR to Thomas and Ellen Maurine Little. He was retired as a communications Foreman for OG&E, retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve, a member of Goddard United Methodist Church where he was a member of the chancel choir, the United Methodist Men’s Organization. He was also a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fort Smith Amateur Ham Radio Club, Riverblender’s Barbershop Quartet, Scottish Club of Fort Smith, Dervish Dance Club, and the Century Dance Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and David Little.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Goddard United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the Direction of Fentress Mortuary.
John is survived by two daughters; Karen Gibbs and her husband Dean of Greenwood, and Kelly Little-Smalley and her husband Edward of Van Buren, three sisters Mary Jane Sebastion of Ft. Smith, Ann Fowler of Ft. Smith, and Maurine Moyle of Barling, three brothers; Thomas Little, II of Arlington, TX, Bill Little of Ft. Smith, and Joe Little of Ft. Smith. John is also survived by seven grandchildren; Rachel Zollicoffer, Barry Gibbs, Brent Gibbs, LaRissa Flanagan, Terra Butcher, Autumn Patton, and Samuel Patton, his eight great grandchildren; Madison Zollicoffer, Jase Zollicoffer, Amara, Ariah, Logan, and Slate Flanagan, Haven Butcher, Brennan Butcher, and one great grandson, Michael Gibbs due March 5, 2015. John is also survived by the mother of his children, Marjorie Little of Ft. Smith and his companion of 24 years Betty Nicely of Ft. Smith.
Pallbearers will be; Barry Gibbs, Brent Gibbs, Keith Zollicoffer, Stephen Flanagan, Dean Gibbs, and Edward Smalley. Honorary pallbearers will be Grant Butcher and Samuel Patton.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the funeral home.
