John E. “Jack” Stone, 93, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born April 7, 1923 in Mount Morrison, CO to the late John and Lillie Stone. He was a retired carpenter from Carpenters Local Union 71. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. and he was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billye F. Stone.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday at the U.S. National Cemetery Pavilion with burial to follow with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia McNally and husband Mike, and Becky Grimes; grandchildren, John and Amy McNally and girls, Kimberly and Michael Wells and children, Amanda Grimes and Jeffery and Kendra Grimes and girls, all of Broken Arrow, OK; his sister, Sharon Daily of Mazy, OK; and three brothers, Glen Stone of Weatherford, TX, Ralph Stone of Burleson, TX and Paul Stone of Harrison, AR.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM at the funeral home.
