June Davenport

June Huston Davenport passed away on April 3,2023 in Fort Smith at the age of 88. June was born in Danville, AR on Jan 27, 1935 and attended school in Waldron, AR. Upon graduation, June went on to become an RN in order to put her husband, Leo Davenport, through medical school. She spent most of her years as a stay-at-home mom and then as “Mema”. She enjoyed cooking and hosted a large family thanksgiving every year in her home. June and Leo enjoyed traveling the world when they weren’t attending Razorback games or spending time with their grandchildren.

June faithfully attended Grand Avenue Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed Bible study.

June was preceded in death by parents Tib and Ara Huston; her husband Dr. Leo Davenport; sisters Mary Ruth Huston, Margaret Ann Taff; brothers Quentin Huston who was killed in WWII, and Joe Bob Huston; and twin grandsons John David and Evan Davenport of Fort Smith.

She is survived by son Karl Davenport of Waldron; daughters Lisa Davenport of FS and Laura Dahn of FS; grandchildren Taylor Jones (Weston) and Langer Dahn of Fort Smith; two great grandchildren; and several very special nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 6 from 1-5 at Edwards Funeral Home. A private graveside service for the family will be Friday, April 7.
