Karissa Underwood Posey

She is survived by: Husband; Josh Posey, 1 step daughter Annie, Parents; Jerry and Connie Underwood, of Pocola, 2 Sisters; Ashley Underwood- Hargrove and husband Cody Hargrove, from Rock Island, OK, and Leslie Underwood from Pocola, OK, Paternal grandparents- Joe and Ila Underwood, from Spiro, OK, Uncle Kenny Whitson and wife Cindy of Stigler, OK, Uncle- Ronnie Underwood and wife Linda Underwood of Bossier City, Louisiana, Uncle Joey Underwood and wife Patti Underwood ,of Shady Point, OK Niece; Kaylee Hargrove and nephew Dash Hargrove, Cousins; Tyler Whitson and Julie Whitson from Stigler and Joseph Summer and Autumn Underwood from Shady Point Oklahoma.

She will be missed greatly especially by her special “extended family”, Mark, Shannon and Hannah McKenzie, and Michael Ratliff.

She was preceded in death: her maternal grandparents George and Ruby Whitson from Stigler, Oklahoma, her aunt; Barbara Whitson, and a very special friend, Sean Amos.

Karissa was employed by Perspectives in Fort Smith and she worked in Childrens Ministry. Karissa loved her family and her friends, but spoiling Dash and Kaylee was a favorite past time. She loved her job helping children, and the ones that were the most ornery were always her favorite. Karissa lit up the room when she walked in and her laugh was contagious. She was the family fashion police, always watching and keeping up with the latest gossip on the stars. Tuesday “family game nights” in the Underwood household were her among her favorite things. She loved Facebook to stay connected with her family and friends. Her Church, and her love of God were the most important things in her life.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Harvest Time Tabernacle in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spiro City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Moore, CJ Atkins, Dody Luu, Blake Farmer, Mike Shelton, Eric Atkinson, Lee Prince, Rick Mott, and Ray Malouf. Honorory pallbearers: Mark McKenzie and Shane Amos.
