Katherine (Kathy) Francis Meyers Furstenberg, 73, departed this life on Sunday, February 12, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on June 22, 1949 in Fort Smith. Kathy was a 1967 graduate of St. Anne Academy. She was very involved in Catholic education at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She is preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Meyers and Bernadine “Dean” Meyers.
She is survived by her loving husband John, of the home; her daughter, Carrie Canady and husband James, of Fort Smith; one granddaughter, Kyla Sears and husband Ryan, of Broken Bow, OK and one great granddaughter, Kyan of Broken Bow, OK; her brother, William J. “B.J.” Meyers and his wife Peggy, of Van Buren; two sisters, Mary Ann Wilson and her husband Duane of Oklahoma City and Ginny Sue Marlin and her husband Roger, of North Little Rock, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews and a wonderful extended family.
Rosary Service will be 9:30 AM Friday, February 17, 2023, Memorial Mass will immediate follow at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with interment of ashes to follow in the church columbarium.
