Born on January 12, 1941, in Lamar, Oklahoma, to Johnny and Pauline Fletcher, Kathleen grew up with strong roots in faith, family, and kindness—values that defined her life and legacy.
She faithfully served for many years as a secretary for Fort Smith Public Schools and St Scholastica where she was known for her dedication and gentle spirit. More than anything, Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, where her love for the Lord and her church family shone through in all she did.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Pauline Fletcher; her son, Jeffrey Clark; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and David Eslick; and her brothers, Leonard Fletcher, Robert and wife Jane Fletcher, John Paul Fletcher, and Bennie and wife Ilene Fletcher.
Left to treasure her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Jerald Clark; her sons, Steven Clark and wife Katie of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Michael Clark and wife Karen of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Charlotte Towery and husband Bob of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Phyllis Walker and husband Raymond of Rockwall, Texas, and Pam Bullington and husband Roger of Barling, Arkansas.
Kathleen’s greatest joys were her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and delight. Her life was a beautiful example of quiet strength, grace, and unwavering love—a legacy that will live on in all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, located at 1400 Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
