

LaVerne Maronge, 69, of Greenwood, AR., died November 11, 2010 in Fort Smith, AR. She was a resident of Houma, LA since 1964 and moved to be with family in Arkansas in the winter of 2009. She was a former waitress and homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith (Judi) LaVerne Callegan & husband Kevin of Greenwood, AR; two sons, Allen Maronge & partner Ronnie Townsend of Greenwood, AR., and Robert (Robby) Maronge, Jr and wife Tammy of Houma, LA; four sisters, Carolyn Skipper of Panama City, FL., Linda Gail Ford of Irvine, KY., Shirley Branch of Dodge City, MN., and Brenda King of Holt, FL; one brother, John Johnson, Jr. of Maine, FL; five grandchildren, Heather, Sarah, & Rachel Maronge, Nicole (Nikki) & husband Cory Farley and Devin Hulan; two step granddaughters, Heather Callegan and Kristen Callegan Albert and her husband Jason of Plaquemine, LA; and one great grandchild, Alyssa Farley, and two step great grandchildren Alexis and Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents John Edgard and Beatrice Sadler Johnson and her ex-husband Robert Maronge, Sr. and grandchildren Dayne & Adam Hulan.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in the First Baptist Church of Plaquemine, LA. Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR and burial of cremains will in the St. Benedict Cemetery in Doniphan, MO.
