Lloyd James “Jim” Williams entered into rest on January 29, 2017 at the age of 89. Jim was born on June 4, 1927 in Tillamook, Oregon to George D. Williams and Opal Vivian Hess. He went to school in Tillamook and joined the United States Navy on June 19 1945 where he served on the USS Iowa and the USS Neches. He received his WWII Victory Medal and served the majority of his time in the Asiatic Pacific Area.
Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, he returned home and discovered his passion in the woods and became a logger. When Jim was not working in the logging woods, he would take his family on many picnics and adventures up the mountains. Upon his retirement from the logging industry, he relocated to beautiful Lake TenKiller in Cookson, Oklahoma where he became friends with the Yerton family and lived out his life with them all faithfully by his side.
Jim is survived by his three children: Douglas Michael Williams of Oklahoma, Debra Kay Williams of Oregon and Diana Leslie Williams of Oregon and his many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Jeannette Williams.
We will Celebrate Jim’s life on Saturday Feb 4, 2017 at 11:00am at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
