

Macie Lorene Butler Rose, 90, of Fort Smith went to be with her Lord December 27, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born, December 13, 1924, to the late Asa and Mary Hudson Butler in Olio, Arkansas. Macie was known for her artistic abilities and was an ace at crossword puzzles. She loved to sew, create ceramics, and was an outstanding cook but was best at spoiling her grandchildren, all 24 of them. Her true love was being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Burrough and her husband Van of Van Buren, Arkansas, Barbara Bonds and her husband Joe of Omaha, Arkansas and Elizabeth Twilla and her husband Gary of Charleston, Arkansas; four sons, Jerry Rose and his wife Suzy of Hackett, Arkansas, Howard Rose and his wife Roberta of Van Buren, Arkansas, Charles Rose and his wife Connie of Van Buren, Arkansas and David Rose and his wife Tonia of Lavaca, Arkansas; her brother, Sam Butler of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Alice Flohr of Tavares, Florida and Reba Knox of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind special family friends, Jeanie and Cecil Marshall. Macie was preceded in death by her husband Thomas; a daughter, Jonie Elaine Rose; three brothers, Doc, Nople and Bill Butler, and four sisters, Polly Owens, Evelyn Furguson, Syble Brigance and Ruby Plum. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
