Michael James Dodson, 65, of Van Buren, AR, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Fort Smith. He was born July 21, 1947 in Kirksville, MO to Lowell J. and Mary A. Draper Dodson. He was an Engineer/Draftsman for EMD Consultants, Inc. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Alice Dodson and stepmother Beverly Dodson.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Fort Smith National Cemetery Pavilion with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors.
He is survived by one son Nicholas Dodson and wife Jai of Memphis, TN, his father Lowell J. Dodson of Kansas City, MO, one sister Becky Cowan of Summerville, SC, one brother Stephen Dodson of Macks Creek, MO and one nephew.
The family will visit with friends Sunday afternoon, September 16, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
