Michael Dean Hodges of Fort Smith, Arkansas took his last breath around 6:26 on Monday morning, October 23rd, 2023. Michael was born on July 20th, 1945 to his parents James and Devota Hodges of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He retired from the Air National Guard as the rank of Master Sergeant with 27 years of military service. He enjoyed his last few years rescuing animals with Jo Ann Barton and supporting the Artemis Project in Fort Smith.
He is widowed by his loving wife and best friend of 32 years, Judy Hodges. Michael is survived by his brother David and wife Connie Hodges and niece Andrea and husband Adam Diediker, his three sons, James and wife Deborah Hodges, Michael and wife Brenna Hodges, and Robert Hodges and daughter Crystal and husband Ray Williams, his loving grandchildren; Jamachia and husband Tramaine Marshall, Brennan, Jordan and Taylor Hodges, Taja McKesson, Allyson Hodges, Tyler, Alex, and Ethan Hodges, and he also leaves behind two great-grandchildren.
Michael's home going celebration will be held on Thursday, October 25th, 2023 at 11am at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edward's Funeral Home. All flowers can be made to Edward's Funeral Home or contributions can be sent to the Artemis Project.
