Nathan Douglas Griffin, 38, died the evening of Thursday, August 10, 2023. He was born September 29,1985 in Fort Smith, AR. Nathan was the beloved son of Don and Carolyn Griffin, big brother to Courtney Griffin and proud father of Riley Griffin. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, countless friends and co-workers. He was a hero, mentor and friend to many. To know Nathan was to love him. As a devoted father, Nathan’s mission was to teach life lessons and enjoy as many experiences as possible with his son Riley; just as his father had done with him. The two enjoyed all sports, both as participants and spectators. Particularly fishing, boat racing and recreational shooting. Nathan was a firefighter for the 188th Wing Air National Guard Fire Department in Fort Smith. He also worked part-time as an Emergency Medical Responder for area EMS and volunteer firefighter for several local fire departments. Nathan was a lifelong member of Westark Church of Christ; graduating from River Valley Christian School. He was an active participant in the church youth group.
