

Nola Gertrude Freeman, 92, of Fort Smith, died March 31, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born September 10, 1921 in Parks, Arkansas to John William and Loda Brook Shelton Wilson. She was a retired cook for Methodist Nursing Home and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Venable of Fort Smith and Nina Freeman of Little Rock; one sister Ruby Thurman of Fort Smith; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband William Francis Freeman and son, Billy John Freeman; sisters, Lena Wilhite and Bethel Lasiter; and brother, Calvin Wilson. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the First Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM.
