Norma Jean "Dolly" Cooksey

Norma Jean “Dolly” Cooksey, 87, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 in The Woodlands, Texas. Mrs. Cooksey was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas who relocated to Texas with her daughter in 2008. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Cooksey was born to Neato Augusta “Gus” and Mary Caroline “Mae” Stephenson on January 29, 1925 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Edwin Stephenson, and her husband, Conley Preston Cooksey.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie Martinez of The Woodlands, Texas and one son, William Stephen Cooksey of Rudy, Arkansas. Mrs. Cooksey is survived by four grandchildren, Leslie Martinez, John McKenzie, Brian Cooksey and Steve Cooksey as well as three great grandchildren, Alexis Ahearn, Kourtney Cooksey, and Kyle Cooksey .

Graveside service and burial of cremains will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
