
Opal Benoit, 87, of Muldrow, went to be with the Lord, May 23, 2013 in Fort Smith. She was born October 18, 1925, in Sequoyah County, OK, to Houston and Gertie Romines Allison. Opal was a homemaker and a member of Dora Assembly of God and Rye Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hahn, and her husband, John, of Roland and Betty Samply, and her husband Danny, of Roland; two sons, Paul Benoit, and his wife Rita, of Muldrow and Billy Benoit, and his wife Jody, of Greenwood; a sister, Leona Anderson, and her husband Bobby, of Muldrow; two brothers, David Allison and his wife Louise, of Juneau, AK and Carl Allison, and his wife Mary, of Muldrow; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well a host of nieces and nephews. Opal is the widow of Virgil Carl Benoit. She is also preceded in death by two daughters, Verna Flanery and Linda Rogers and a brother, Melvin Allison.
Funeral service for Opal will be Tuesday, May 28 at 10:00AM in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Michael Franklin and Rev Bobby Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Dora Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 25 from 2:00 – 4:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Carl Allison, Bobby Anderson, Brett Clark, Larry Flannary, Jerry and Skyler Rogers.
