Rick Warren Duke

Rick Warren Duke, 68, of Fort Smith, formerly of Odessa, Texas, lost his battle with cancer and flew to his eternal home with Jesus on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born on January 11, 1954 in Odessa to the late Sammy and Patricia (Wysong) Duke. Rick was a 1972 graduate of Odessa High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University. During his high school and college career he was a record-breaking swimmer. Rick loved the Lord Jesus Christ and in the last few years of his earthly life, he made it a mission to grow even closer to Him. He was involved with Teen Challenge and Celebrate Recovery and led groups and helped others through their recovery. He loved his family and friends and desired to have a renewed relationship with them.

There will be a Memorial Service to honor Rick’s life at a later date in Odessa, Texas, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by two daughters, Shan Gass of Midland, Texas and Trish Bretz of Victoria, Texas; his son, Brock Duke of Odessa, Texas; his brother and sister-in law, Mark & Tammy Duke of Odessa, Texas, his grandchildren. Along with his nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
