

Thord Frank Luper, 97, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, in Fort Smith. He was born June 8, 1918 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas. He was a retired residential delivery man for Acee Milk Company. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Melba Thordean Campbell of Pearland, Texas and Donna Sue Ross and husband Jim of Fort Smith; three sons, Dale Alvin Luper and wife Betty of Fort Smith, Herman Earl Luper and wife Dianne of Mulberry and Jerry Don Luper and wife June of Greenwood; close friend, Liz Webb of Fort Smith; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Agnes Cassat Luper on December 29, 2009; his daughter, Patsy Ann Luper Graham; his parents, Alvin Augustus Luper and Flora Elsie Cardwell of Johnson, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Rye Hill Baptist Church.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Rye Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 11512 Old Hwy 71 South, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72916.
