

Virginia Pauline “Polly” Kesner, 82, of Fort Smith, passed away May 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 18, 1929 in Cherry Grove, OK to Charles James and Cora Sophrina Dalton Hough. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and a retired Realtor earning the distinction of lifetime membership in the Million Dollar Sales Club. Our mother was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, warming the hearts of those she touched. Her gentle and giving spirit was evident in her heart, her home, her work, and her walk with her Lord Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, W. C. “Wimpy” Kesner; three daughters, Phyllis Russell and husband Jim, Kathy Austin and husband Buddy, Rosemary Geren, and husband Terry all of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister in law, Ona Hough; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful and loving caregiver, Peggy Vellanueva. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cora Hough, three brothers and six sisters.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Chris and Randy Russell, Kes and Mark Austin, Jeremy and Jessica Geren.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 PM
