
Wayne Alan Carver, 53, of Fort Smith, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 17, 2011. He went peacefully at home in his sleep with his companion Debbie by his side. He was a Staff Sergeant and Combat Engineer in the Army for nine years receiving several service awards including the Army Achievement Award with Oak Leaf Cluster. He became a truck driver for thirteen years, a fork lift driver and later an apartment manager before becoming disabled in 2008.
Wayne was a kind and giving person with a gentle smile and mischievous eyes. He was always willing to help others before his own needs. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole Rochelle, mother Dovie Jean Upton, sister Loretta Carter, brother Richard Scuito grandparents Paul and Ester Carver and Clyde and Mary Dingman, brother-in-law Buddy Davis, stepmother Helen Carver and stepfather Bill Upton.
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Beck officiating. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his father Gerald Carver, two daughters Danielle of California and Selena of Texas, two sons Jeremy Carver of California and Gerald of Greenwood, two sisters Becky Urbina of California and Mary Davis of Van Buren and two brothers Brad and Roger Stott of California.
Pallbearers will be Keith Pruisner, James Smith, Anthony Robinson, Ed Rogers and Terry Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Winford Napier and Chris Davis.
