Wilson Wallis was a friend of me and my family in Bentonville for many years. Later he and I worked together in the justice system in Sebastian County. Always dependable and willing to help anyone and everyone.  Many, including me, will miss him. God bless him and my sympathy to Sharon and family.

Jon, Wilson was an officer in Bentonville in the late '50s when I was a high school student. During my senior year, I worked for the Burns Funeral Home as an ambulance driver and attendant. Wilson would often work traffic accidents where I would be taking folks to hospital. He worked with Hugh "Tater" Black, John Black and Towne Bolin, other officers and sheriffs. I haven;t seen Wilson in many years' but he was a much loved friend to myself my husband and my children' We still think of him often,

i am so sorry for your loss. i met wilson in 1969 when i went to work under bill struebing and tommy goodwin - the first time i ever saw him i was typing and i started to look up, and up, and up and up.  finally i got to the top and he grinned - from then on when he needed something from hdqts he knew all he had to do was call - he and capt slick were a pair and i adored both of them - he has left a void in our lives

We have a lot of memories.  He was such a good dancer and had a wonderful sense of humor.  The "big guy" could always be counted on to give a helpful hand.

There is not enough space for me to share all my memories of my friend.As a young rookie state trooper in 1966 I was assigned to Ft Smith under his care. When I say "under his care", its not to be taken lightly.  This man was my tutor, mentor and father figure the first 3 years of my law enforcement tenure. But I was not the only one who benefited from his wisdom, as many other young men went on to have successful careers with the Arkansas State Police as a result of "WW's" involvement. Ryn and I have many many memories of, as she still called him "Sergeant Wallis". We will miss him.  Larry and Ryn Fletcher  ASP Retired and presently living in Cave Springs near his home place.

I am proud to be counted as a friend to Wilson Wallis. I knew him from my hometown of Bentonville where he was a police officer prior to his employment with the ASP. We knew many people and places in common and talked often about events and people from the area. I'll remember him as a strong public servant and loyal brother officer. God bless...Orville C.
