

Aaron Bracken Hopkins of Roanoke, IN, 25, passed away February 19, 2018. He was born October 11, 1992, the son of Terry and Gena Hopkins. A 2011 graduate of Huntington North High School, he obtained his Associates Degree from International Business College in 2017. Aaron loved the outdoors, the ocean, the mountains, the woods and foraging for mushrooms of many varieties. When he was younger he enjoyed going on camping trips. Hunting especially for pheasants was one of his favorite annual traditions. Music was a passion of Aaron's, and he enjoyed playing a variety of string instruments. Aaron began playing hockey when he was 7 and played through High School as a goalie. He earned four Varsity letters from four different High Schools (Northside, New Haven, and Leo) for Hockey and Huntington North for soccer, even though he only attended Huntington North High School. Aaron was lucky enough to work in what he loved, which was cooking. He was a chef at Sycamore Hills Country Club. He enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and would sample his creations on his family. Aaron loved his family and close friends. His kind and caring heart will be especially missed by those close to him. He is survived by his parents Terry and Gena Hopkins; siblings, Alissa (Hopkins) Penney, and Graham (Emerald) Hopkins; fiancé, Rebecca Moore; nieces, Lillyan Wegmann, and Paisley Hopkins; and grandparents Gary and Marilyn Thompson. Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents; Ernest "Lee" and Wilma Hopkins. Visitation will take place from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, February 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 1-2pm. Private family funeral to be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodburn Children's Home.
