

ALAN L. SIMERMAN, 64, went to walk with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2015. Born in Fort Wayne, Al retired in 2011 from Super Value Food Marketing after 40 years. He was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church and Teamsters Local 414. He loved volunteering at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. He traveled to all 50 states, enjoyed driving his Corvette, motorcycles, hiking, fishing and the outdoors. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his granddaughter. "A special thank you to the staff Fort Wayne Oncology, Fort Wayne Radiology, Parkview Continuing Care Center, and Parkview Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion." Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Simerman; daughter, Stephanie (Philip) Taylor of Fort Wayne; son, Joshua (Lori) Simermam of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchild, Gwyneth Taylor; brothers, Paul (Pat) Simerman and Leon (Sherry) Simerman both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Diane (Leman) Reus of Rockford, Mich. and Linda (Jack) Arney of Huntertown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurance and Lorene Simerman. Funeral Service is 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Dr., Huntertown, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind.
