

Albert Lee Smith was born May 3, 1946 a son of eight children of the late Wilburn and Almeda Brownlee. Albert departed this life to glory on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the age of 76 with family at his side.
Albert was known to many as “Butch or Mr. Butch.” He was owner and operator of Butch’s Exhaust Shop for many years located on Oxford Street. He was a favorite uncle, a faithful brother, and loving cousin who loved his family near and far.
He confessed to Christ and was baptized at an early age at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, under the leadership of the late pastor, District Elder Henry W. Jones and under the pastorate of Bishop E.C. Haywood, he remained faithful and served in several capacities within the church. Albert was a member of the Usher Board, Sunday School and Brotherhood, where he remained a faithful member until his illness and death under the pastorate of Dist. Elder Mark A. Haywood.
He was an avid reader of his Bible. He loved the Lord and his church, Greater Christ Temple.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Vickie Smith-Logan; son, Jahmeel Belton; two grandchildren, Terry (Ashley) Scott Jr. and Jalik Logan (Jaliayah Hogue); four great-grandchildren, Terry Lee Scott III, Karter Scott, Juelz Logan and Ashton Scott, a sister, Jenetta (Clarence) Knox; several sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Albert was also preceded in death by six brothers, A.Q. Brownlee, Wilbert Brownlee, Conrad Smith, Nathaniel Wilson, Gene Brownlee and Henry Wilson.
A visitation for Albert will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 2940 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46806 with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
