

Alfred A. Billian, Jr., 97, of Fort Wayne passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He joined his wife, Mickey, to whom he was married for 63 happy years. He was born in Bound Brook, N.J. to Elsie and Alfred Billian. During WWII he served 4 years with the Army Air Force Base unit in Bartow, FL as the crew chief for the P-51 mustang airplane. He started college at Rutgers University and following the war returned to school and received his degree at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He founded the A.A. Billian Co. in 1950. He supplied a four state region with computer accessories, raised flooring for computer rooms and introduced the color-coded filing system. Al was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a successful business man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey, brothers Harold, Bob and Doug. Survivors include son Dave (Linda) Billian; daughter Bobbie (Tim) Shambaugh; dear friend Evelyn Parker; grandchildren, Jeff (Jenny) Shambaugh, Kelly (Brian) Burgdorf, Stacy (Mike) Koehl, Michelle (Jim) Alcorn, Jason (Andrea) Smith; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, A.J. and Sam Shambaugh, David and Gracie Burgdorf, Makenzie and Lukas Koehl, Brandon, Mallory and Amanda Alcorn, Alex, Dylan and Ethan Smith. Service is 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 24, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Avenue with calling one hour prior to the service. Visitation and celebration of his life at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Friday, February 23, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
