Alfred Joseph Bowser, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born on September 13, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Alfred was the son of the late Ralph O. Bowser and Alice O. (Havert) Bowser.
A faithful Catholic and devoted family man, Alfred lived a life grounded in faith, love, and quiet dedication. He was a loyal supporter of Notre Dame football and Indiana University basketball. His greatest joy—his idea of heaven on earth—was time spent with his beloved wife, Betty. He also cherished fishing and treasured family time in Michigan. Professionally, Alfred devoted the majority of his career to Magnavox, where he worked as an electrical engineer. In his quieter moments, he found deep satisfaction in researching genealogy and preserving family history.
Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty J. Bowser. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, all of whom he now joins in eternal rest.
Alfred was the proud father of Tom (Ellen) Bowser, Tony (Barbie) Bowser, and Theresa Bowser of Columbus, Ohio. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Adam (Stacy) Bowser, Alicia (Jake) McKim, Lauren (Derek) Graber, Shauna (Carson) Cox, Aaron Bowser, Blake Bowser, Corin Bowser, and Derek Bowser, as well as his many cherished great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 12, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with visitation at 9:30 am.
Visitation also from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Wednesday February 11, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons - Covington Knolls - Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN, 46804.
Committal and burial will be at Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery.
