Andrew Kenneth McKissick

Andrew Kenneth McKissick, 50, of Fort Wayne Indiana, passed away on Wednesday April 8th, 2020 at his home after battling cancer for thirteen years. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 25th, 1969, a son of Kirby and Diana (Handlin) McKissick. He is survived by his spouse, Jennifer (Rayl) McKissick and their three cool kids: Stephanie, Alex, and Amber McKissick. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Laura) McKissick, and his mother Carol McKissick. And here is the story of our family and how it all began. Our parents met at 16 years old and have been happily married for 30 years. During this time, we (Stephanie, Alex, and Amber) came along. Growing up, some of our fondest memories consist of taking family vacations to the beach, boogie boarding in the ocean. As well as enjoying family dinners and his famous chocolate chip cookies. Our dad was a simple man, loving his family and dogs was what he enjoyed most in life. He spent most of his time enjoying the outdoors. You could find him running, cycling, kayaking, walking the dogs, or working on the landscape. He was our go-to mechanic… he was our go-to for everything. Everyone who knew our dad, loved his unique sense of humor and that was our favorite thing about him. Our dad appreciated a nice long island on a summer day, a sweet cherry pie, and just good conversation. He was selfless, loving, kind, very generous, and had the bravest of souls. We know him as a great father, loving husband, caring neighbor, and best friend. Thanks for putting up a good fight. You will always be in our hearts, we love you so much. Wurtz IU Health, and all the amazing nurses that cared for our dad during his fight with cancer. Memorial donations may be given to Riley Children's Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O.
