

Arden L. Byerly, 86 passed away Monday August 23, 2021 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born May 26, 1935 in Bluefield, WV to the late John Fox Langdon and Marguarite Elizabeth Moorman Langdon.
She graduated from Bluefield High School and went on to get her Bachelors from Concord University, West Virginia. She and her new husband, Gary, moved to Angola, Indiana right after her graduation. She later went on to earn her Masters in Education from Indiana University. She was a teacher for East Allen County Schools for 34 years from 1957 until 1992, teaching first grade and then piloting the Reading Readiness program. She was East Allen’s Teacher of the Year in 1991, and a Semi-Finalist for Indiana’s Teacher of the Year 1992.
In her spare time Arden was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading to her children, her children’s children and to her classroom. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking! And Arden was an avid game player…from Euchre, Backgammon to Aggravation…not to mention a few Monopoly games with her youngest Grandson Reece.
Arden is survived by her children, Laura L. Byerly of Fort Wayne, IN; John G. (Stacey) Byerly of Franklin. IN and Lisa K. (Robert) Lothamer of Monroeville, IN;; and three grandchildren, Arianna, Drew, and Reece. Arden was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Earl Gary Byerly, on May 6, 2014,
