

Athanasios Pappas, 88, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at home in Fort Wayne. Born in Polikerasos Kastoria Greece, He was a barber, photographer and carpenter before he became the owner and founder of Pappas Furs. His greatest dream was to come to America seeking a better life for his family. He was a true artist with a sense of humor and lived a very full life. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are wife of 64 years, Ourania Pappas of Fort Wayne, IN; children George (Elisabeth) Pappas of Fort Wayne, IN, Aspasia (Steve) Panaretos of Woodcliff Lake, NJ and Tina (Ben) Jacquay of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Thomas (Tammi) Pappas of Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (Stephanie) Pappas of Cleveland, OH, Amanda (Mark) Uhl, Andrew Pappas, Ethan Pappas, Jonathan Pappas and Michael (Sylvia) Topalov all of Fort Wayne, IN, Harryjohn (Courtney) Panaretos of Emerson, NJ, Niki Panaretos of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, Christina (Sebastian) Szot of Harrington Park, NJ and Angela (Edison) Byzyka of Fort Wayne, IN; 10 great grandchildren and his sister, Efemia Kolibanova of Skopje. Funeral Service is 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E Wallen Rd with calling one hour prior. Fr Andrew Walsh officiating. Calling will also be Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorial Donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
