She married Edwin A. Stevens Jr. on November 30, 1940. Berdina was a devoted homemaker for her husband and children. She was a member of Trinity United Church and also the American Legion Post 82 where she enjoyed dancing and meeting old and new friends. In her spare time, she volunteered at the church food pantry, and also at various nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, as well as three brothers, four sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Bullard, Judy Evancho, and Margaret Stevens, (Asif Samuel) all of Fort Wayne; son, Gregory Stevens (Pamela) of Parma, Ohio; and sister, Gloria Reidt of Fort Wayne. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the service following at 12:30 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park,1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church, the Rescue Mission, or the Animal Care and Control.
Berdina's last words before she left us, "I have to go, my family is waiting on the other side of the door."
