

Bernard R. “Bernie” Lee, 88, of rural Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was born on December 15, 1927 a son of the late Elmer Ralph and Ruth Pauline (Krause) Lee. He served in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years. He later retired from a local bank working in account and financial affairs. He was a member of American Legion Post 296, Tillman Rd. He was a former Santa Clause with the Goldenaires Choir. He also volunteered at the Botanical Conservatory and drove car for the Cancer Society. Surviving family include his wife, Marylinn J. "Linn" McAfee-Lee; daughter, Linda Long; step children, Mick Paxson and Brenda Clark; grandchildren, Caitlin and Dylan Long; two step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Lawrence of Fort Wayne; and brother, Leslie L. Lee of Lake Forest, CA. Memorial service will be 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at American Legion Post 296, 130 W Tillman Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46807. Military graveside honors will be 11:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Inurnment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse or Calvary United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, Fort Wayne handled the arrangements.
