Betsy was born on January 10, 1943, to Byron Thompson and Laura (Gray) Thompson in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will miss her dearly. She graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne. Later, she accomplished further education studying medical assistant curriculum. She was so greatly inspired by her two sisters and mother. She always admired their academic accomplishments and success. They inspired dreams for her. They gave her the inspiration to keep fighting and reaching out for something more. She also lived a rich life serving retail sales, library work with a special interest in genealogy and history. It was her heart and nature to be on-the-move with her travels through life. She had a special love for cats and music. It especially connected her service for others from a beautiful Christian faith. One of the greatest joys she professed was singing in the choir for Faith United Methodist Church, Kendallville. She humbly admitted she was not the professional voice but was ever grateful for leaning on her choir friends to help her stay on key. It meant the world to her when they were one voice praising God. She spent a greater part of her life serving the Episcopal Church and most recently the United Methodist Church.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Laura Thompson; sister, Margaret Miller of Louisville, Kentucky; and brother, Jonathan Thompson.
