Bob Hobbs, 89, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Coventry Meadows Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. He was born to the late Fenton and Vera (White) Hobbs in Cunningham, Kentucky on November 4, 1932.Bob married Peggy Apperson in Mississippi on December 28, 1952. She survives in Fort Wayne. Mr. Hobbs honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He then went on to retire as an Electrical Engineer from Magnavox in Fort Wayne. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 296, Maumee Lights 725, a 33rd Degree member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Mizpah Shrine, Red Cross of Constatine, and the Royal Order of Scotland. Also Surviving are his children, Deborah (Mark) Melchi, Stephen Hobbs, Nathan Hobbs; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Thomas Hobbs. Military Honors will be rendered on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 2PM at D.O. McComb and Son’s Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Calling will be from 2 PM to 5:30 PM at the funeral home with a Masonic Funeral Service beginning at 5:30 PM. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
