Boris Garber

Boris Garber, 85, of Fort Wayne, and formerly of Los Angeles, Calif., passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Born September 14, 1934 in Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, Mexico, he was a son of the late Adolfo and Consuelo (Lara) Garber. Boris would tell stories of how he enjoyed growing up near a river. He loved animals and remembers being able to carry around a squirrel in his pocket. After high school, Boris was part of the Police Department in Mexico and later retired from Savon/CVS in Los Angeles, Calif. After retirement, he and his wife, Cory, managed several different apartment complexes. He enjoyed gambling, Hollywood Park Horse Race Track in Los Angeles, eating at restaurants, taking drives, and stopping at the beach, especially Marina Del Rey, to get his feet wet in the water. While at Marina Del Rey, he enjoyed stopping at Ralph’s for a donut, coffee, and hot chocolate for his daughter. He was always very sociable and one of his biggest accomplishments was being able to quit smoking and drinking. He was married on December 6, 1989 to his loving wife, Cory. Boris loved spending time with his family and had a special relationship with his grandson, Boy. He is survived by his wife, Cory (Nunez) Garber of Fort Wayne; children, Jesus Garber, Adolfo Garber, Angelina Guzman, Boris A. Garber Jr., Martin Garber, Rebecca Garber, Ena Flores, and Damaris Carrillo; grandchildren, Bianca Katherman, Victor Guzman, Tyler Garber, Martin Garber Jr., Atticus Jude Garber, Boy Garber, Denise Sandoval, Robert Flores Jr., Ashley Flores, Leslie Flores, Jenyfer Hernandez, Darlen Gracias, Samantha Jimenez, Alanna Carrillo, Maximus Carrillo, and Axel Carrillo; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Katherman, Maylen Sandoval, and Amy Sandoval; and beloved dog, Twiggy, who once ran away, which flustered Boris, and later returned pregnant.
