Brian Worley Gilbert Sr.

Brian Worley Gilbert, age 65, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his home. Born on August 5, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Brian lived a life marked by faith, humility, and dedication to those he loved.

Through two marriages, Brian was blessed with five children and one stepson: BJ (Shannon) Gilbert Jr. of Fort Wayne, Nick (Tiffany) Gilbert of Fort Wayne, Eilene (Jamie) Stayer of Fort Wayne, and Breana (Cameron) Mason of New Haven and Austin Tschantz of Fort Wayne. Known affectionately as “Papaw Gilbert” or “Uncle Bubby,” he was a pillar of strength and love to his ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A proud man of God, Brian’s faith was at the center of all he did. He was known for his gentle spirit, his sense of humor, and his steady, unshakable belief in the power of prayer. His life was a testament to perseverance and grace.

Brian worked as a truck driver for over 30 years, dedicating himself fully to his craft and the people who relied on him. Whether on the road or at home, he showed up with loyalty and integrity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Worley and Vivian Gilbert; his sisters, Carolyn Copley and Janice Saylor and Linda Gilbert; his grandson, Zachary Gilbert; and his daughter, Kendra Gilbert.

To those who knew him, Brian will always be remembered for his wisdom, his kindness, and the example he set as a man of unwavering faith.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Christ Church, 3131 Maplecrest Road (46815) with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation also Friday, June 20, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 5:00 – 8:00PM at the church.
